Activating the Loyalty Program
The loyalty module ships disabled. There are three independent switches that control how it behaves — turn them on in the order below as you move from setup to a live program.1. Enable the Module (Launch to Production)
The master switch lives in Admin → Company → Preferences, under Activate customer loyalty. Turn it on once you’re ready to start configuring tiers and enrolling customers. While this switch is off:- The Loyalty menu is hidden from the sidebar for every user.
- Loyalty routes are blocked, even from a direct URL.
2. Enable Earning and Redemption
Once the module is on, go to Loyalty → Customer Types and click the Module Active / Module Inactive button at the top of the page to open the loyalty configuration modal. Toggle Activate loyalty module on when you’re ready for customers to actually start earning and redeeming points. While this switch is off:- Sales recorded in the point of sale will not accrue points, even for enrolled customers.
- The loyalty shortcut and Redeem Points action are hidden during invoicing.
- You can still configure tiers, enroll customers, and review history — nothing in the back office is blocked.
3. Automatic Points Confirmation Email
In the same configuration modal, toggle Automatic email delivery on to send each enrolled customer an email after every sale, summarizing the points they just earned and their new balance. While this switch is off, points are still awarded normally — only the automatic email is suppressed. Turn it on once you’ve reviewed the email content and are ready to start notifying customers.Customer Types (Tipos de Cliente)
Loyalty tiers in SmartPyme are called customer types. Create and manage them under Loyalty → Customer Types. Each tier you define can have its own:- Points-earning rate — how many points a customer earns per currency unit spent.
- Benefits and labels — descriptive perks you want to associate with the tier (e.g. priority support, exclusive discounts).
Enrolling Customers
To enroll a customer in the loyalty program, open their profile under Sales → Customers, then set their Customer Type to the appropriate tier. From that point on, every sale linked to that customer will earn points automatically according to the tier’s configured rate.Changing a Customer’s Tier
To move a customer from one tier to another — for example, promoting a Bronze customer to Silver — open their profile, click Change Type, and select the new tier. Their points balance and transaction history are preserved when the tier changes.Earning Points
Points are awarded automatically each time you record a sale for an enrolled customer — no extra steps required. The number of points earned is calculated from the sale total and the earning rate defined on the customer’s tier. You can adjust the earning rate for any tier at any time under Loyalty → Customer Types.Viewing Points Balance
You can check a customer’s available points balance in two places:- 360° Customer View — open the customer profile to see their full loyalty summary, including current balance and tier.
- Point of Sale — during checkout, the customer’s available points are displayed automatically so your sales team can inform them of their balance before completing the transaction.
Redeeming Points
During an active sale, click Redeem Points to apply the customer’s available balance as a discount against the order total. SmartPyme deducts the redeemed points from the customer’s balance immediately and records the redemption in their points history. Points are redeemed on a first-earned, first-used basis so older points are always applied first.Points History
Every points transaction — earned or redeemed — is logged in the customer’s points ledger. Access the full history from the customer’s profile to review when points were awarded, how many were earned per sale, and any redemptions made.Viewing Available Benefits
From a customer’s profile you can view all the benefits currently available to them based on their tier. Share this information with your sales team or display it to customers to increase engagement with the program.Exporting Loyalty Data
To review your entire enrolled customer base at once, use the Export option under Loyalty → Customers. This downloads a spreadsheet of all loyalty customers, their tiers, and current point balances — useful for reporting or targeted marketing campaigns.Reports
Use the Customer 360 dashboard to track loyalty program performance across your entire customer base. Available insights include:- Top-points customers — identify your most engaged buyers.
- Redemption rates — see how actively customers are using their points.
- Tier distribution — understand the breakdown of customers across your loyalty tiers.
